Aloha fellow Tber's I just wanted some help with a general question! I am looking to purchase a Schroeder 4-10 Regular 4 ohm bass cab, I am matching it up with a Yorkville Bassmaster XS800 bass head. is there anyone out there that knows how this match up sounds like?

Thanks and Aloha,

:bassist:

Yes  ...I have that exact same match up. I bought my Yorkville head about 15 months ago thinking that I would replace it with a more expensive and higher powered head as soon as I found one....well I've AB'd many heads since (and before) with my bass and cab(up to 1200 Watts) ...and I've had trouble finding any combination of Amp/Cab that I like better. The Yorkie is very loud for 800 watts-I've not heard louder, it has a huge selection of tonal possibilties-its a hybrid SS/tube preamp that you can play thru either channel or both. Its got built in compression if you want it, and its also got "over-drive" if you really like that "loud driven" sound(I don't). The Schroeder cabs are already very loud, alive, and warm, but you just get more of that in your face, and fluttering you pants with the Yorkie powering it. And the price...I mean, you can't go wrong there ...this amp is one of the best deals out there IMHO. It's built like a tank-really...and it has a great 2 year no questions asked transferable warranty...and Yorkville has had a great reputation as an Amp builder for a looooong time. In our loud Blues-Rock-Indie band with two guitarists/drummer, I use my Sansamp Bass DI Inline, but not on, and I rarely have the volume over 9:30 on the master on the Yorkie...and my bass is coming thru loud and clear...every note punching thru, the band surfing :D my low frequency wave...I never go thru the PA...now that's headroom! If you get a chance...I would'nt hesitate to try this combination...you might like it too! Peace...and Aloha (:bassist: & former resident of Da Big Island) ...DAcat.
