Hi I have just stripped a poly finish p bass with a heat gun, got some scorching on the back, have spayed some household bleach on it and rubbed it in and left it in the sun, not sure if this will work , I dont have a respirator to use with proper wood bleach, however when I am finished success or not, is there a way I can neutralise the bleach afterwards I dont want my bass body to fall to bits lol.
I know this sounds horrifying hope you can bear with me, best wishes...paul
ps this is the first time I have attempted something like this. the final effect of this is going to be a distressed body like billy sheehands wife bass so it has not got to be showroom condition just want to negate some of the worst effects of the heat gun.
also , is the black paint stuff in the pickup cavities of any special type or anything to do with shielding and what should i replace it with. thank you so much
