Score! Music man related :)

well i have been gassing for a stingray.. but with this economy..
so last weekend i went to Guitar center, went to the bass "room" and i was browsing around not looking for anything specific,, when i saw this bass hidden behind a mark bass stack... A used Music Man stingray SUB with a $300 Price tag :)
Well, i bought it.. it was at the store for only two days so could not take it home because they have to make sure is not a stolen bass, Is in Mint condition, no scratches, dings or anything.
I am very happy and i cant wait to have it in my hands, i dont know if anybody cares but i just wanted to share.

Happy thanksgiving

BTW the bass is 4 strings in Teal :ninja:

It looks just like this one ;)

Nice grab! I also found a "mint used" S.U.B. Sterling last Spring during my local Guitar Center's Memorial Day sale and pounced on it, as I'm not a big enough fan of the MM-sound to pay $1500+ for a new bass, but $350 for an American-made version that's easily 90% of the "standard" version? No question that one was going into my collection for when I need the "Music Man" sound. The bonus was when I contacted MM's Customer Service later than week and found I had purchased only one of six sprayed in "Cinnamon", a Rust Red/Gold/Green color-shifting paint that's akin to the Petrucci signature "Mystic Dream" but in the S.U.B. textured finish... IMO easily the best finish they produced for the line:

The best "real live" photo I could get of the "Cinnamon" finish - you need tons of light to show off the different shades, although the "front half" is the closest to it in real life: a dark red metallic finish that changes when the light hits at different angles.

I tossed a White Pearloid pickguard on mine and it's certainly a "looker": I've had several friends offer to purchase it from me after minimal playing of it. It's a shame that Music Man wasn't making enough profit on the line and switched it over to build more higher-end basses - The S.U.B. line is what I'd absolutely recommend for someone like me for whom a StingRay or Sterling isn't their "sound" but would like it available to them for studio work or different projects or a dedicated Music Man player who would like a stage bass that can take a beating, especially at these prices. Same pickup and electronics, quality hardware, and build quality as every other Music Man. Congrats again on your new purchase and great deal! :D

Thanks everyone....
ray, i didnt know about that but the store manager told me that now they give the police all the serial# af all the used basses that come to the store so they check if it was stolen.. i dont really like the wait but at the same time i am glad that they take care of that

Yeah, it's actually comforting to know they do that! I bought that one I cited about 4 years ago, so maybe it's a newer policy?
Either way, glad to hear they don't just blindly take in gear.

Betcha can't wait!
