I apologize if this is a repeat question(s), but I'm relatively knew to the forum. I recently bought a new Squier Classic Vibe 50's Precision. I am considering replacing the stock pickup with a Bassline SCPB-3. My question is when the new pickup is installed (I would use a professional who presumably knows what he is doing), does he need to remove the pickguard, volume/tone pots and scratch plate and anything else while he's at it? I had a bad experience in the past with an MIM Precision that I upgraded, and it was never the same, always humming when I took my hands off the strings, no sustain, and a few other problems I won't bore the Forum with more than I already have. Thanks in advance for the advice.

SCPB-3 Installation concerns

Provided the new pickup fits the cavity correctly, here's what I've done for similar installations on several SCPBs.
Loosen the strings and tape them out of the way. Remove the control plate, desolder the pickup wires, remove the pickup, install the new pickup, solder the wires to the pot on the control plate, reinstall the control plate, un-tape and tune the strings, adjust the pickup.
