SD Basslines Active P question...

I bought this pickup and electronics prewired used. The pickup has what appears to be eq switches on the pickup. Has 9v battery and v/t knobs. Anyone seen this before?

Now for the question: Do I need to connect the wire that grounds to the bridge? Also do I need a ground wire running to the body?
