like swimming ferrets, basically.
They don't like anyone watching.... I lived with a couple of ferrets for several years back in the 80's and I can tell you they're intelligent enough and can use found objects as simple tools. They also exhibit some funny human traits, like hoarding useless objects they like. Ours had a fetish for Grolsch bottle caps and those little rubber rings. Found a whole pile of them when we moved the couch.I haven't seen any video footage of ferrets using stone tools.

Ferrets are indeed very clever critters. They can be very strategic and are incredibly tenacious. Mine had a thing for hoarding bras and bass straps (amongst other things). He had a very clear idea of what belonged to him.They don't like anyone watching....
