A wonderful player. I don't hear many people mention his name when discussing bass players. I think he is highly underrated

I agree fully. The Gordian Knot CDs are fab. (Having Bruford play drums on one of them is a huge draw for me too.)

Even though my "Metal" days are behind me I still dig that subgenre. I can also hear all of the fusion elements in there so that's a plus. He's also contributed to transcription books of Stanley Clarke and Jaco tunes.

In fact, I started my practice routine by playing every song in the book except for a half dozen that were too advanced for me technically....
