Second Fretless?

Hey, I've owned a squier vintage modified fretless for about a year now and it has served me well but now i'm ready for something new. I'm over the synthetic fingerboard and i am not that keen on the duncan pickups.

I want an unlined jazz of sorts, I've got an MIM jazz, i was thinking of putting a warmoth neck on it and upgrading the pickups and bridge, is that a good idea or am i better off selling both and investing in something else?

cool cool, what woods would you recommend?
I was thinking of the good old maple-rosewood but maybe there's something cooler out there.
I like a warm, midrangey poke, don't need any glassy highs or anything.

Wait, isnt the VM fretless like "the best bang for the buck" bass out? Everyone rants about them? Why not use the money to get a new rig? :bassist:

mainly because it's a lined fretless and i hate the synthetic feel of the fingerboard. Plus the pickups aren't my cup of tea. Damn good bass though if that's your thing. Maybe i'm a little picky.

I've been looking into doing this to my MIM Fender fretless Jazz. Eventually plan on buying an unlined neck with ebony fingerboard from Warmoth, new bridge, and new pickups. Basically same as you mentioned.

Just need to get the funds together for it, since I just bought a 2008 MIA Jazz. :bassist:

Is the MIM fretted? It might be a better idea to upgrade the Squier because that body is real nice.:) And then you would have a fretted just incase. Do you guys think a warmoth neck would fit well on the Squier? I tried an MIM neck on my Squier and it had tiny gaps in the neck pocket.

yeah the MIM is fretted but i've got other fretted basses, as well as a gorgeous Eastwood Airline Map bass coming soon....
So i'm covered there.
I think i like the olympic white finish on my MIM better anyway.
