See Thru...

I think it's pretty cool! But wow, only $150? That's uber cheap! They don't specify what the neck and fretboard are made out of. For that price, I wouldn't expect it to sound particularly great, but it'd make a bitchin' piece of wall art!

# 4-String Lucite Electric Bass
# PMMA Body, Clear Body
# Maple Neck
# Rosewood Fretboard
# 1Volume, 2 Tone Controls
# Steel String, 24 Fret
# Width at Nut: 1 5/8"
# Width at Bridge: 2 3/4"
# Scale Length: 34"
# Total Length: 43"

It looks cool, but i don't know about the sound... the great problem with this type of bass are the scratches

I bought a see-thru bass off eBay a few weeks ago from a private seller, not the seller concerned here.

Yup, it's heavy but it looks very cool !!

The bass needed some work though. The nut was plastic and not fastened to the bass at all, so I made a new one from a bone blank. The frets needed some attention, the strings needed changing and the 'board took a couple of hours to clean. I also shielded the electronics with copper tape so you can see that through it as well !!

I loaned it to a student of mine as a backup for an important gig he had. He said the bass sounded really good, no electrical hum and he was really pleased that it was standing at the side of the stage if he needed it.

It was cheap, needed some work, but sounds great and looks cool.

What I mean by "they don't specify what woods the neck are" I REALLY meant "I don't read."
:D

If it was full of LEDs that flashed in a pattern that hypnotised the cute ones in the front of the audience to beleive the fat, bald bass player was their sex god, I'd buy one.
