Hey guys,
This thread is basically a desperate call for help. Let me explain,
My name is Anirban Roy, I am a bassist residing in Kolkata, India. I have been playing for the last 7 years, i am in my senior year of college now and I might soon shift to a different city to pursue higher education. Now this is something which i do not want to do. Because of my band 'The High Crook'. We are a 3 piece Blues/Rock n Roll project. We have been gigging for over 2 years now and have a lot of material ready. Now the independent music scene in India is pretty f***ed up. There is hardly any good record label available here to sign upcoming talents and help us in spreading our music. I am a student as i already said and live of my pocket money and the little cash that i make at a few gigs (most of the venues don't want to pay you).
Now if we are not able to record the material that we have ready within a few months, I am afraid all our efforts will be wasted and all of us will be forced to disband and follow different paths. We do not have the required capital and strategic know-how. Even if we record our tracks at our home studio, we won't be able to properly market and sell the product. Because, I am my band's manager and I will be completely honest with you guys, i know jackpoopie about PR.
So talkbass.com is my last resort. Many of you guys here are professional musicians and signed under labels. Many of you have contacts to good studios who might be interested in new talents. I am not talking about the big-shots. Even something to get us started would do. Someone who is willing to produce this album for us or any moderately established label who wants to work with us and has the proper resources to sell our music and get us better gigs.
I have never gigged outside India, playing anywhere in Europe or America is still a dream. I have never been paid more than Rs.2000 for the music i produce (which is basically $32.57). I am uploading a link to my band's latest track. We are a band who believes blues is not dead. We try to bring back the old school in a new way. If you like our music and if you are willing to help us in any way possible, or know of anyone who might take us in the right direction, please feel free to contact me. Drop in a mail at [email protected]

I believe we have potential to make it big, and i believe that there is someone out there who will be able to help us.
Thank you for your time and patience.
Peace,
Roy.
