Seeking replacement dome tweeter for Ampeg S-48 speaker column

I didn't either until I saw them posted on our local Craigslist - and instantly got the 'wants' for them - even though I'm already well fixed for P.A. gear! According to the seller, all 8 of the speakers and 3 out of 4 of the tweeters are working just fine. When he demo'd with his amp, my ear didn't miss the 1 tweeter and I thought they sounded truly great - but I would still like to get the whole rig working at 100%. Thanks!

Rick, you are a prince among men, sir! It is really good of you to respond and offer - but I just moments ago sent payment to an eBay vendor for exactly what I was looking for! I will see what I can do to take down my post here on TalkBass now. Much appreciation here!

Many thanks for looking here! As it turned out, when I removed the grille on the ailing speaker cabinet, the need was for TWO dome tweeter replacements. I have since arranged to get a pair sent by an eBay seller.
Again, thanks, and wish me luck!

The schematic doesn’t offer much other than the part numbers and the total impedamce.

I’d look at the two tweeters and see if there are any markings such as impedance or part number. The Magnavox tweeters came in 3.2 ohms, 8, and 16 ohms as I recall. Each had a different part number.

Disconnect and test your tweeters. It could be that the issue is with the crossover.

Thanks, Beans! (Don't know that I've ever had beans on toast, but it doesn't sound all bad!)

After removing the grille of the ailing cabinet, what turns out to be the problem is missing tweeters, not defective ones.

Your suggestion is a good one, except that the tweeters in the cabinet that is intact only have the "580203-1" part number and no indication of specs such as watts or ohms. Multiple internet searches for OEM Magnavox 580203-1 units have come up empty.

Again, my thanks!
