About selecting a J type bridge pup for a PJ type bass :
I'm thinking the bridge pup wouldn't matter if the poles are N up or S up because I found one neck pickup 1/2 is N up and the other 1/2 is S up.
And how about windings direction ? I just swapped the bridge wire polarity for the sound I liked best. So my bridge pup is S up and who knows what direction the winding is.
As was, the bridge pup swamped the neck pups out when the bridge (J type) was from 3/4 to full volume. The neck pups are 6.5k ohm so I tried an 11k bridge for two reasons.
Now the bridge pup barely swamps the neck pups, and the 11k has a bit more output.
