Sennheiser XSW IEM Interference

Have been using this system for a while now with no issues but then recently mounted transmitter in a rack with a mixer, splitter, Furman and bass amp and am getting lots of snap, crackle, pop and drops. I have installed the kit to mount the antenna on the front of the unit and I'm only 10' away. Any thoughts?
Wireless is new to me and this current situation almost makes it unusable.
And yes, have gone thru the process of finding open channels with the transmitter off.

What has changed with respect to the antenna, antenna position, etc.? How was the transmitter situated before going in the rack? On something, other equipment around it, etc?

I have installed the kit to mount the antenna on the front of the unit and I'm only 10' away.
As a test, can you turn the rack around, put the antenna directly on the transmitter? Like it was before, I presume.
 
It was just sitting on a counter with no other electronics around it(3 feet from where it is now)…now it is obviously in a rack full of electronics.
I got a front antenna kit after installing and having this issue but it didn't seem to help.
I have even tried avoiding the Furman and that didn't help.
 
You may have a defective transmitter or receiver. That performance doesn't sound right to me.

I have the XSW IEM and have been using it over the past year in many different venues and have no issues at all, and I am using the standard antenna, in a rack with XR18 and a wifi hub.
 
Anyone else using an IEM or wireless xmtr? IM distortion between systems in close proximity can be an issue. Also, don't leave your cell phone near either end of the system. Carrier signals can muck things up as well. May not be your demons, but it doesn't hurt to check.

Possibly the antenna is now close enough to the rack equipment that low level signals/noise are mixing in with the wireless signal to the antenna. For this to happen usually there is either a gap in the shielding or a grounding problem. Your options:
1) Pull the transmitter from the rack as planned.
2) Try a different cable between the transmitter and the antenna. If the cable and antenna are one piece, then try a different antenna.
3) Try turning off single pieces of equipment in the rack to see if the interference stops. If one or more of the rack mounted pieces of equipment can be identified as the source(s) of the interference, then check the cable(s) coming out of that equipment. The best way to be sure about the cables is to replace with a known good or new cable.
4) Sometimes an interference signal/noise travels along an electrical ground. A power conditioning unit that can handle all of the equipment in the rack may eliminate this. Before buying such a unit, try using an extension cord to supply power from an outlet on a different circuit breaker to the transmitter.
5) Just like shielding the cavities of a bass guitar, sometimes external shielding for the equipment can help, though this will be a trial and error process.
6) A more sophisticated approach uses a spectrum analyzer to determine the frequencies of the interference and then check to determine the source of these frequencies. Someone good with an oscilloscope may be able to accomplish this.
7) If a single piece of equipment in the rack is the source of the interference, then consider replacing this equipment.
I hope one of these options does resolve your situation.

The church where I play bass picks up interference from my bass whenever I use a Tech 21 Bass Fly Rig. I never have this problem anywhere else. I suspect the overhead lighting to be the source of this interference but have not been able to verify this as it requires someone to turn on the sound and lighting equipment, then to turn on the lights in various combinations. Shielding the cavity of my bass guitar did reduce overall noise but not eliminate it. Using different 1/4" instrument cables made no difference. Likewise, trying different XLR inputs to the sound system made no difference. Using the latest version of the Tech 21 Fly Rig made no difference. At this time, I simply go straight from the bass into a passive DI box.

I do have a power conditioner in the rack and have already tried using separate power.
I have tried the stock antenna and a new that mounts to the front.
Next will be pulling from the rack and going piece by piece.
Check rack isolation (screws) and also for any loose connections on the other equipment in the rack. If it works fine outside the rack, the problem is related to something in the rack.
 
What equipment is in your rack? As mentioned above power supplies can be a path for interference to get into the signal path. Ac adapters (wall warts) that provide DC voltage to equipment rarely have adequate shielding to prevent this. (This probably the cause for my problem with the Tech 21 Bass Fly Rig at church.) Switching power supplies, if not well shielded, can produce a great deal of interference. If you can isolate the source of interference to one piece of equipment, it may be possible to place it further away from the antenna on the top of your rack.
