I'm thinking of the 280 Pro phones, but I can't tell if there is difference btw. the Pro's and the "Silver" pro's other than color. Anybody know? Thanks!

Big Joe, I love the way both sound, but I warn you, they are Bass Heavy.
If you plan to do recording or any critical listening, keep in mind these phones are bass heavy.
They are the same head phone, just different colors!

Thanks for the info Treena! I plan to get some AKG 240's in the near future for a more accurate sound whilst recording (and as a reference). I am looking for these to loosely monitor levels for recording g**tar with some degree of attenuation not so much as monitoring tone and for silent practice with my Raven Labs PHA-1.
