Serek Lincoln bass

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by flyingfinbar, Jun 26, 2019.

  1. I just discovered Serek basses and immediately fell in love with the Lincoln model. I’m considering having one built (once I sell some gear...), and I can’t decide on fretboard/body color/pickguard combos.
Does anyone have one that they’d care to post pics of? I’m strongly considering wenge/Capri orange/parchment PG with a Novak coil tapped BiSonic, but I would really like to see more pics, if they’re available. Thanks!

  2. Anyone??

Based on my experience with my Midwestern 2 (B90 pickup), you can't go wrong with Serek. I like the Novak BiSonic/DS type a lot, but didn't find the coil tap to be all that useful when I had one in a previous bass. My Epiphone EBO has the drop-in mudbucker replacement with no tap, and it sounds great.

  4. Thanks for your input! I’ve checked out clips of the Novaks with the coil tap...seems cool, but I don’t know how much I’d use it.

Feel free to post pics of your Serek! I love seeing the different color/pup combos.

Fine for me. It's light, resonant and responsive, and I couldn't be happier.

  8. I have a serek lincoln, serial number 000, and it has the guild bisonic pickup. I am loving the bass, so light, and the body is actually smaller than it looks (not as big as grabber for example). I am experimenting with rounds and flats but both sound incredible. I don't have the curtis novak pickup, but might upgrade later. Loving the black on black, but also look into more pickup colours to change it up later.

What wood is the body on your Lincoln, and after a few years, has any of the paint started wearing yet?
