Setting up a rack for the first time

Hey guys - complete novice with rack gear

I have an ART VLA pro 2, ART MPA and a focusrite 18i20

All of which have front ears, but no rear ones

Am i being stupid here? Will the front ears bare the whole weight of each piece of equipment, or do i need to buy additional fixings to support them?

The front ears are all they need. Also, rack gear is all different depths front to back, so they would all need complicated adjustable rear fixtures if they were going to be bolted in back.

It is possible to bend the front rack ears if you drop a loaded rack hard from a good height, but the best solution is just to not drop the rack.

Any thoughts on the ART VLA by the way?
Seems to be pretty good for the money

The VLA is a good compressor for the money. They are pretty transparent at low ratios. I've had good success using them across stereo keyboard tracks.
