Setup for tuning down

I am auditioning for a cover band,they tune down to e flat,what is the best way to get rid of string buzz,higher the action a little or
loosten the truss rod a pinch?or both.

It depends on where the rattle is coming from.

Heavier gauge strings will tighten up the tension. It should help.

I understand that. But what frets? If the strings are rattling on the lower frets, you probably need a touch more relief, thus a slight loosening of the truss.

If it they are rattling up high, just raise the saddles a bit and you are good.
