Setup Question

Hi, I'm referring to the Fender website to adjust the setup of my Squier P bass. This is the link:

I'm not really clear on one item. Under "Action", they refer to measurements for the "Bass Side" versus the "Treble Side". How does this refer to the distance between the top of the fret and bottom of the string? Are they talking about the two lower strings (E and A) versus the higher strings (D and G)?

Also, same issue under "Pickups". Just not sure what exactly they're referring to with regards to "Bass Side" and "Treble Side".

Bass side is the E string. Treble side is the G string. Pretty sure.

The bass side is your larger strings and the trebble side is the smaller strings. Your smaller strings do do oscillate as severely as the big strings when plucked. Therefore, they don't need as much clearance. They can be closer to the frets without hitting the frets while oscillating (we call it fret buzz)
The measurements given are only a starting suggestion. You may find that you like and can play a lower or higher action.
