Sexy Fodera

I know I'm in the minority here, but I really don't like the appearance of about 99% of Foderas. They seem to be big into burl and crotch woods and I don't care for either of those. To me those basses look dirty and when I see them I have the urge to clean them.

Also, I'm not a fan of the single cut.

That being said, that white one that started this thread is quite attractive. Probably the most attractive Fodera I've seen.

And please bear in mind I'm not making a judgement call about how Foderas sound or play - simply about how they look. Usually not my thing.

IIRC you and I determined that I wouldn't be able to afford yours, didn't we???

;)

YRC

But I didn't mean mine;)

I can't make up my mind whether to keep mine or not. Once it's gone it's gone and I'd probably feel like a chump for doing it.

OTOH I have five killer six strings. That's two more than I need and four more than I really need;)

You know, I don't like singlecuts, Fodera's bodyshapes or those modern, way too thick looking hollowbodies nor can I play fretless and I'm usually not too fond of 5er's either...

but, that first Fodera is just sizzling with hotness. Wow, elegant too boot and I can really appreciate the bodyshape all of a sudden. Wonderful.

And while we're on the subject of favorite Foderas, this one comes to mind:

Although, this one makes me somewhat nuts as well. . .

What!

If that top piece of burled jacaranda would be perfect were it not for the knotts.

I really love that peacock maple, though. That's one of my favorite looking tops. Just stunning!

This is another favorite top...

Hello there,
Since you guys are fan of the Fodera so I jam it for your advice.

:smug: What set of strings you found best for the Emperror Elite 5.

On my Fodera's I like the Fodera strings and the DR LoRiders also.

Although on my Imperial 6 I use Elixers because of the 36" scale length. They actually sound pretty good on that bass.

Sorry! But I can't help my self!

Have you seen the new Fodera Beez Elite 5 with Holly top at Link Removed

Amazing !!!

Looks cool (though it still doesn't make me like the Beez shape).

The Emperor Deluxe 5 with that darker top (is that Kingwood) looks very sick... sick in a very good way... good thing I can withstand GAS... at least until my new bass is ready :smug:

That Emperor Deluxe that you asked about has a Mahogany body with a Buckeye top and Redwood back. The fingerboard is Kingwood.
