Sexy Fodera

And while we're on the subject of favorite Foderas, this one comes to mind:

That's one of the coolest Fodera tops I've seen-probably the only one I like more was the buckeye burl one with blue wood color (lost the pic).

I really dislike almost all of the Fodera body shapes, but some of their tops are so nice that I don't even notice the body. Jared Morante's Fodera is one of those.

This is one of my fav foderas:

and i dont even like red basses :hmm: There was a picture of a 5er posted here a while back with an inlaid top wood (possibly walnut) which I found so sweet. And call me crazy but despite all the fancy tops and finishes out there this is probably my favourite Fodera (or VERY close to)

Hmm...thanks? :p

I'm just the opposite. I like almost all of the Fodera shapes and think they are the most elegant in the biz by far. Also keep in mind I didn't like the single cut look until I saw an Imperial in person, with someone playing it. Totally changed the game for me. Now I greatly prefer single cuts to double cutaways.

The Fodera in Mark's post first post is absolutely gorgeous. If it had a black pup cover it would be heaven. I am curious about one thing.

How do the single cut basses in this thread balance on a strap or on your lap? It seems to me that there would be extra wood pressing down on the neck, making it neck heavy.

The added wood of a singlecut adds up to only a couple of ounces-almost all singlecuts are carved away on the rear. They don't "press down" on the neck really either-the strap button is attached to the bout of the singlecut, so if anything, the weight is pulled away from the neck. Even if it wasn't, it's not at a place that would add neck weight either-if you add a few ounces to the headstock, it would make a much bigger impact.

Now that I have it explained it makes "obvious" sense. The farther out the weight the larger the impact. Anyway, they are truly beautiful basses and I think I would like to try one.

 and thanks.
