Picked up this 1965 EB3 last week for a very good price. It's been refinished and I'm pretty sure the headstock overlay has been replaced but it's all about the playability and the sound. This one delivers and I'm looking forward to using it on my next gig. Pictured here with my 1966 EB0.

Hey sorry if this has been asked before but does anybody have measurements of the stock bridge pickups? I wanna see how much smaller they are than jazz pickups
Anyone know if the current Guild BS-1 Bisonic pickup is a direct fit into an SG bass (or at least direct enough that no routing would be necessary)?

Added one to my 2001 epi eb0. The sides dont quite fit so you have to cut some wood away. I also didnt like poles being on end closest to neck so removed more wood to let me flip it around. Chiselled (shame 
) but its covered so dont care 
and im not getting rid of her.
Feel it gives a more full sound than original sidewinder and doesnt distort as easily (got to dig more to get garage sound....but also lower than sidewinder as i didnt use riser). Think switching to tapes from dead rounds gave more of a sound change but can hear a difference. Was still worth it to me. Mod ocd wouldnt let me leave it at that. And bought it with intent to mod. Wouldnt do it to a real gibby.
Sadly stepped on cable and broke my input jack so have no pre and post recording. Once got it fixed went straight to installing pickup.
And just a bedroom player so no care how it mixes with others.
Never heard a dimarzio model1 in person so cant compare to that either. Wanted to keep chrome so this was my option.
Edit: here was my 1st and only attempt of me trying to record into pc. I should probably try through rumble40. Way more bass. Dont judge. Just getting back into playing. Recording doesnt do it justice..not as bassy as real life (not sure if do to pc speakers or recording through vox amp). No humming/electric buzzing from amp speaker so issue with how i recorded it. After relistening it almost sounds like my bass when played without amp. Need to figure out this record thing.

Also, your playing is good.
Too bad about the Bisonic not being a direct drop-in. Perhaps unfortunately, my bass is a Gibson. When it comes to routing, since I haven't quite committed to this guy as a life long keeper, I'm probably not gonna go that far.
Re: "Got to dig more to get garage sound." Funny, that's how I often think of my SG bass now (with the neck pickup) — early 70s "garage rock" sound

Don't know if he's making them regularly or not. Sounded like he had this one lying around, lucky for me.
I can't see how anyone would find asking for clarification to be funny.
Maybe the statement, "is any interest in reproduction EB palm rests", is extremely obvious to super humans,
but I generally don't make a habit of going on "wild ass" assumptions.
Also since his user type is Supporting Member and not Commercial User was I suppose to "ASSUME" he manufactures as well?

Aesthetically speaking I like them but I'd worry about them getting in the way when trying to play. If they were cheap and easy to put on and take off (like telecaster ashtray covers, pop-on pop-off) I'd buy 2

Just came in ... I'm thrilled to hold this bass guitar ... this is a 1969 Gibson eb-3 (it might started it's life as an eb-0 though according to the previous owner)
One piece mahogany body
Three piece mahogany neck
Gibson logo without the dot above the I letter
Aftermarket bridge and tuners (hipshot)
Missing bridge cover and thumprest
Gibson case (not original)
@godofthunder59 you said a couple posts before to let you know how things ended with my local eb3 acquisition!! It costed me 900 USD and I think I ended up with a very good deal for small money.
A lot of checking on the finish, normal wear and tear for its 50 years, no breaks, this instrument was played a lot!!!

What strings are these?... They look like Fender flats but I know those don't come in short scale...
