Have to love a bass with a black pearl pickguard as standard issue. I've heard they lack bottom end, or oomph, as it was put from another forum.

I read that post and have never played or heard one so I'm sure they are correct, but that is really surprising to me. I know, different pups and all, but the EB's are kind all bottom end. They look really cool though.
Shhhhhhh!yep a z is on reverb right now, that same one in pic i think, 1500
Would have to imagine a pickup swap would be compulsory based on this guy's description.

Oh yeah I got a great deal on a Electra sg bass recently. While I wish it had the fan headstock and Electra peace sign logo that other models had I'm still thrilled with it and was surprised with how good and massive it sounded. I have a pickup that I took out of an Electra p bass that I'm going to have installed so it'll match my Gibson (pictured last) which also has a p bass pickup in it
Yes, it came with the Babicz bridge Bobyoung53.Beautiful bass, I have an Ebony T-Bird and wanted one of those but couldn't justify it since I play mostly Fenders these days. Is that one of the ones with the Babicz bridge? Mine came with one but I've been away from the bass for 6 months now and can't remember the details.
Yeah these Electra instruments age real well in good hands. I like the bridge a lot. It's a bolt-on neck, which I think works well with this styleThat's in great shape for its age, congrats!
Interesting bridge. Had one like that on an El Degas EB-3 copy a zillion years ago. Is the neck set or bolt-on ?
The SG-EB Bass Club!
SG-EB rules as follows:
1) It's about the body style! Gibsons, Epiphones, tribute, and customs are all ok. Must be the SG type body.
2) No basses marked as original brand or country of origin that are not (no blatant counterfeits)
3) Numbers given on request, but no pictures no proof!
4) We like pictures
5) Standard forum rules apply otherwise.
Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement bridge pickup mounting ring? I'd like to lower the action on my '65 but any lower and it will be hitting the ring. I'm hoping to find a shorter one.
