Double Bass Shadow SH-950 Input Jack

Guys, possible noob question here, did a bit of research in to this (i.e a few different permutations of a google search) and can't find anything solid.

Does anybody have an issue where a normal instrument lead is slightly too small for the input? Like it will work from a very specific angle but doesn't clip in the way I feel it should. Do I have a faulty jack or am I use the wrong leads?

I've heard of people using Monster Cables (which purportedly have an ever so slightly larger male jack for better contact surface) switch to a regular cable and the Monster over time has oversized the female jack on the amp/pickup so the regular cable's jack is loose.

We're talking 100ths of an inch or whatever Lilliputian amount. Never experienced it myself, so I can't say whether it's a musician's myth or what.

In my limited experience on this planet, I've found that definitely some cables' plugs are "sloppier" or "tighter" fitting than others. Try a (few) different lead(s) to narrow down the possible problems.

I assure you it's not a myth :-( thanks for the input I'll look in to that, just trying to avoid changing the jack if it all possible! The sound when I get it working is gorgeous, and it'll stay in for a song or two in sucession but I couldn't trust it for a whole gig.
