Double Bass Shadow SH 965 NFX

I am having trouble with the above pick-up, try as I might I cannot stop the the wires from the pads vibrating on the different parts of the bass. I've tried twisting them round the strings after the bridge to stop vibrations but on some notes even the the small plugs that fit into the preamp vibrate as well causing nasty noises throughout the combo. Short of ditching this set up for something else what can I do, has someone also had these problems. I use spire mittal, when I have evolution honeys the bass didn't vibrate as much and the problem didn't exist.
