Double Bass Shadow VS. K&K

Hi!

I have been using the Krivo pickup for a while but I want to have the possibility to play other non metallic strings. The two pickup-systems I'm thinking about is the Shadow SH RB-PRO Rockabilly System and the K&K Bass Master Rockabilly Plus. I really don't like the look of the Shadow pre-amp on the tailpiece so I'm leaning towards the K&K, but I have heard positive things about the Shadow...

What do you people think?

For all intents and purposes, the pickups perform pretty close to the same; there are subtle differences tonally, but they are placed the same (bridge wing and adhered to back of fingerboard) and therefore produce quite similar sounds.

The preamps are the big difference.

The K&K Preamp is simple and effective; it has a three-band EQ on each channel, separate input and output volumes for each channel, and can send a mono blended signal OR a separate output for each pickup.
The Shadow Preamp is more highly developed, with low cut filter on the slap channel, different balanced EQs, a built-in tuner and mute, and more. It can also send a mono blended signal OR a separate output for each pickup.

The Shadow preamp is designed to mount on the front of the tailpiece. The K&K can be mounted on the front or rear (extra stuff required) or worn on your belt, placed on your amp, etc. The Shadow uses tiny, 1/8" (or 3.5mm?) plugs from the pickups to the preamp; the K&K wire to a stereo plug that you use a common TRS cable to plug into the preamp. Outputs on both are on regular "guitar" cables.

I have only played the Shadow, but I believe there's not much difference in the sound. I chose the Shadow because of more options and easier access to settings.
