Shaping nut and final setup

Hi everyone,
I'm finally nearing the end of my build and I had one final question about making the nut and final setup. I've cut the TUSQ nut to width, and marked out the radius/height of the frets on it with a flattened pencil, and made a second identical line 1/16" above it.

What order should I follow to finish the nut and get ready to set up? I was thinking of trimming the nut height down to ~3/32 above the bottom line on the nut, filing out my slots to a bit higher than their final depth, then do an initial adjustment of saddle height/neck bow with the strings on to tension. Finally, I would file the nut slots down to their final height and do a fine tuning of action, intonation, etc.

Is this how it's typically done? Thanks for your replies!
