Sharp Fret ends on a Warwick

So I've got a 2000ish corvette 5 string, I've noticed that the fret ends of the last 5 or 6 frets are popping out a bit from the board. These basses have internal fret ends, they don't extend past the outside edge of the fretboard, so the ends themselves aren't sharp, its where the wood of the fretboard has cracked a little and created an uneven surface that feels sharp.

I know with a normal bass you could just have the ends filed and move on, but that doesn't appear to be an option here. Anyone seen this before, have any advice? Thanks!
