In regards to your advice, throughout the years (I'm now 47), I've worked for years on being up front about my feelings, actions,
faults and strengths. I find that it makes life much more simple.
It's also made me realize just how many people are not aware of their actions/reactions and/or take no ownership for the part they
play in any given situation. It's always the "other person's fault" or, when you point something out that they may have done, their response
is a tit for tat, pointing out something you might have done. They can't and don't face their contribution, but simply deflect the
issue on to someone else.
I've seen this in my family for many years, which is one reason I left home at a relatively early age, to get away from that.
The best part is, one major reason I decided to propose to my girlfriend was that she is just like me. Says it like it is. Takes ownership
of her part in things. When we have had disagreements, although they might get heated, we tend to "stay on point" to figure things out,
rather than start slinging mud, name calling, and pointing fingers.
