She said yes!

Thanks, everybody. I do appreciate it.
P.S. She's very pro-bass. When we first met and dated in 2002 She was singing in a local punk rock band. Total turn on. Now that we've reunited all these years later she's learning to play guitar and supports and appreciates my bass playing and singing and supports my love of playing in bands.

HAHAHHA, I just saw the mistakes that my phone auto-corrected, "Pink rock band" and "aging in bands". Fixed it.

A word of advice if I may:

Be the responsible party. Take ownership of your relationship. Never blame your spouse for anything. Take responsibility for it. Every relationship that fails begins with "Yeah, well
F she wouldn't have."...... ********. If you would have provided the right environment she wouldn't have fount it necessary to....

If both parties take responsibility, you can do nothing but succeed. If you depend on your spouse to make the relationship succeed, you should look into getting a dog.

I always take full responsibility for my actions.
How about a congratulations to accompany your heavy post?

What in the world? Why is it on her right hand?
Greek style. We put it on the right hand, including the wedding ring.
She's not Greek and, although I am of Greek decent, I'm not overly hung up on Greek customs.
However, this particular one suits me because she liked the idea and when we do get married I won't have to wear a ring on my fretting hand :D

Absolutely! Congratulations!

Sorry to be a wet blanket, that wasn't my intent. Just passing along the best relationship advice I ever got!

:D Thanks, very much! Please know I wrote my response with a smile on my face.

In regards to your advice, throughout the years (I'm now 47), I've worked for years on being up front about my feelings, actions,
faults and strengths. I find that it makes life much more simple.

It's also made me realize just how many people are not aware of their actions/reactions and/or take no ownership for the part they
play in any given situation. It's always the "other person's fault" or, when you point something out that they may have done, their response
is a tit for tat, pointing out something you might have done. They can't and don't face their contribution, but simply deflect the
issue on to someone else.

I've seen this in my family for many years, which is one reason I left home at a relatively early age, to get away from that.

The best part is, one major reason I decided to propose to my girlfriend was that she is just like me. Says it like it is. Takes ownership
of her part in things. When we have had disagreements, although they might get heated, we tend to "stay on point" to figure things out,
rather than start slinging mud, name calling, and pointing fingers.

I'm with you.

I've always wondered how that was spelled. Would I be too forward if I said "You had me at 'eunuchs'."

In all seriousness OP, good luck. I saw this coming when you got the PT Cruiser and later deduced you weren't a lesbian.

Hahahahah! The PT had nothing to do with this. I've always just wanted one. I've always wanted to be a lesbian, too. ;)

Seriously, thanks for the well wishes!
