In other contexts, to be "taken out back of the woodshed" means to administer/receive a "whuppin'".

To "shed" means to "get rid of".

Either meaning of "shed" might be bad news for somebody who's messing up. It depends on whether or not the band intends to keep them!

"Shedding" is a term used in Gospel Music. It probably comes from the wood-shedding idiom. It's basically a jam session with lots of showing off.

Some churches will hold a "shed" which is basically a Gospel jam session.
