Shell Pink Precision

I think the cream color would be a shade or two darker than the pick guard, and basically have the same problem.

True but I think it would suit it.

Obviously not a shell pink guitar but:

I think sticking with the pearloid guard black pup covers are probably best IMO. of course.

If it where me though I'd put a tort guard on it with chrome knobs and cream pup covers.

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit :D

I realize that some people love tort on everything, I can only tolerate it on white, or natural. Besides, the pearloid pick guard is almost a dead match for the pearl block inlays of the neck.

Yeah I get that it's how I feel about tort on LPB inca silver seafoam green ect...

Pink & tort works for me but I ain't knok'n it if my rose is your vomit, to each thier own lol:D

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. The black covers are going to go back on it.

I've run up to this same issue. Only solution would be pg matching pearl covers. No clue as to how to go about this, but accordions and some guitars over time were moulded w/MOTO.

just thinking out loud.

It's probably not worth the effort, but I guess I could buy another pick guard, and veneer the pearloid to the top of the black covers. It, would solve a problem with the Fender 62 pickup as well. The pole pieces stick out a good bit past the covers, and the E string hits them unless they are adjusted way down into the body.

huh.., I actually hadn't considered that. Could be cool - I'll have to try it myself!

After thinking about it, I just might try it. I think it could look cool, if the edge of the pearloid was beveled just like the pickguard and you could see the Pearloid/black/white layers.

I guess I just thought I was done with this bass:p

...a modifiers work is never done! ;) Even if you did the top conforming to the pu (no bevel), the stratus of the plies will still be noticeable. Either way it could offer up a slick custom detail.

I'm gonna have to order another pickguard, to cut up. I doubt I could find some PG material that is a direct color match.
