Hi Robert,
I'm working on the new site as we speak, so I've let the old one get a little dusty. There is a Youtube video of it: .
Dang that bass looks good

The ebony extension on the Shen was done at the Cincinnati Bass Cellar. I suppose either Andy Stetson or Chris Roberts did it but I did not ask them who specifically made/installed it. It works really well and does not rattle.Rod, who did your extension?
I've not done any further upgrades to the Rogeri Willow. The endpin in my Romanian hybrid is nearing end of useful life so I am considering upgrading the Shen endpin then installing the current Shen endpin over to the Romanian. I have no plans for the tailpiece.Thanks. I have the Rogeri Willow and am debating what to do with it. I was dead set on selling it a few weeks ago because I thought it was too soft-sounding, but I swapped out the Belcantos I had on it for Flexocors and I'm auditioning a bow that seems to have added a bit of brightness to it. I had a new bridge put on it last year that also helped. Have you done any other mods to your bass, such as an endpin or tailpiece swap?
A used Shen 180 for a new bassist. Match made in heaven...![]()
My Shen SB200 Flatback Willow 7/8
Hi folks. SB 150 here (I think). I have the hybrid. I have a few questions:
1. What's the benefit in TB of being in a club? Not meant to be a sarcastic question, just curious. Just a fun thing?
2. What's the difference between an SB 150 and a 180? Both hybrid?
3. I looked at a Shen Willow Flatback the other day. Don't know the number. Sounded great. Anybody own one? I'm wondering about the "fatback" being more trouble in terms of cracks. My hybrid seems indestructible.
