Shielding/Grounding Issues with Fender CS Jazz

The pickup cover isn't grounded, but you could ground it - a small wire under the cover from one of the screws into the pickup cavity to the shielding in there or any other ground point.

It's working with the bridge pickup cover! I assume it touches the bridge? It's not ideal, but I'll see if I can make it work.

I've been thinking about installing a grounded metal thumb rest between the pickups but I usually find my thumb moves to the E strings when playing anything on the D and G strings and occasionally on the A.
