Shine a Light - Rolling Stones: Does the tempo change?

For anyone who's covered this classic - the dynamics make it seem like the tempo picks up as more instruments come in. But does it? Or maybe it does but ever so slightly? My band does a nice cover but we differ on this question so I'm curious what you all are hearing.

...I would further argue that calling attention to them misses the point.

Yeah, if I play [sic] "Shine A Light" in my head I can definitely hear some places where the tempo ebbs and flows. You can be damn sure they didn't use a click track anywhere on that album!

Yeah many of their songs have a loose feel to them that works. It does seem like the tempo picks up in the chorus but it's very slight. A hidden gem IMO.

yes, the tune gets faster as it plays.

i doubt that they intended for the tempo to change, and i doubt that they cared if/when they became aware.

Man that's one loose version. The change isn't nearly as pronounced on Exile but I now see it's there too. We won't worry about it either.
