There are a few shoe threads in the Miscellaneous forum, but I'd like to expand on the theme a little; so:

    1. What shoes do you wear onstage? Include photo(s) if you can.

    2. Why did you choose this/these shoe(s)? Comfort? Looks?

    3. What genre(s) of music do you play?

Personally, I wear white tennis shoes or something casual. They have to be relatively new and clean. I choose shoes for looks because my feet (knock on wood) never get sore or tired. I play rock, country, R&B and have played polka and ethnic music.

Black Blundstones. They go with anything and are super comfortable. Chisel toe model is extra stylish!

"Chisel toe"? Could that be used in self defense?

ASOS Chelsea Boots. Go with anything I wear. Look classy. And I get compliments from the ladies about them.

I usually wear a pair of black Justin Ropers.

They are cheap and work regardless of whether I am wearing jeans or a tux. Not so great with cargo shorts though ;). They have a walking heal so they are relatively comfortable. I also wear them when them to ride motorcycles.

I play mostly jazz and cover music ranging from funk to rock to country.

I love my Doc martens. Comphy, sturdy, long-lasting and pretty good grip on a slippery stage. These have played from top 40, modern "Nu Metal" oldies, and now yacht rock.

These Merrells are the most comfortable casual shoes I've ever owned. Not flashy obviously, but go great with jeans and a dress shirt. Classic rock bar band.

Well, if the gig is longer than just one set, it's always:

Skechers for Work Men's Felton Slip Resistant Relaxed-Fit Work Shoe

    tmp.

OSHA requirements describe all the qualities you need in a shoe designed to survive a gig environment: waterproof, nonslip, shock hazard protection, memory foam insole, not too much arch support. The only drawback is they don't breathe, and wear out fairly quickly. I'm into my second pair now.

Either Chuck T's or Bullboxer boots, depending on the gig. Music is Americana.

This. As well as the complementary one on my left foot. The “Pro” model with the thicker inserts because I’m not a yung’n and neither are my knees. I bounce and lunge a lot when we play, and need something semi-grippy. Never shorts, cargo or otherwise. Blinding white chicken stems ain’t appealing to anyone.

At the moment, these are my go-to. IMO a good alternate to Chucks and Old Skools.

I wear them primarily for looks, but they're pretty comfy as well. Music is rock.
