I have located a GB NEOX 212T nearby and will be trying it soon. I hope it lives up to the mental sound/image I have of it now. After all this bass related reading, I'm thinking I want to trade the MM EB Sterling for a passive Jazz or similar. The times, they are a changin'.

Hi! in the mid-70s, I embarked on amplifying my Rickenbacker Stereo Bass and saw some Altec bass speakers 15". Altec had discontinued the design so I thought that i would buy just the speakers and create my own rig with a few changes in design. All went well.
You too could do similar but adapt the design to be much lighter in weight. You may choose your make and size of speaker and then set about selecting the materials and design for your rig. Mine was 2 x 2 x 15" Altec 421 8H. almost 40 years later it is still all working. If you want more info from me go to www.escutcheonmedia.com and send an email via contacts.
