Shopping for basses in Denver

Just spent the better part of my afternoon at Premier Bass Guitars, and it was awesome. Lotta bling in that place, and Dan's a great guy to talk to about almost anything bass-related.

Not very many places anywhere you can actually play a high-end bass (Sadowsky, Lull, Lakland, etc) before you buy one. I even tried a Reverend bass -- which was surprisingly fun to play. If you live in Colorado -- or are just passing through -- check it out!

Bought my Sadowsky Will Lee from Dan this weekend! Great guy, great store, and very accomodating. He gets all my business from now on.

Superior, Co.

That Will Lee is sick, one of my favorite Sadowskys. Congrats on your purchase.

I have an NYC that is great. I with Roger could sell me the mid range switch to retrofit mine, but you can't get it on anything but the WL.

Since we're plugging Dan, I just mail ordered strings from him since it's a 45 min drive up there. It was still less than other online retailers and of course I'm getting personalized service as well. He already helped me select some new strings for my fretless and showed me a bass that had them equipped, which made trying out a new set a no brainier. Looking forward to some more experimenting with his help in that basic but important dept as well.

We do need to get together, Robin - that Fodera looks sick. I'm out of town all next week; maybe the following...

I'll be in the Boulder area in April. Premier Bass is a must see, can't wait to check them out.

Going to Wildwood as well, although tehy seem light on basses.
Anyone been to Drum City lately? I may try to make it there, it's just out of the way from where I'll be. Is it worth the trip?

I was at Wildwood on Wednesday and they don't have any basses in the front of the store except for a Squier and only have a couple lefty Rics and a few Fender custom shops in the back. Tons of guitars though.

Robb's Music is a cool shop to check out if you're in Boulder. Spectors, Fenders, Epis, and Ibanez is what they mostly have.

Premier is rad, but man... Lot's of bling is a nice way of saying expensive. I think the G&L SB-2 Tribute is the lest expensive bass on the wall. Still, all the guys I've talked to there are super nice and all of the gear is well cared for and quality. They're even nice to a know nothing 4 chord plunker like me.

I'll definitely check out Robb's. I'll visit Wildwood with my brother, he just bought a nice guitar from them, plus he's only a couple miles away.

I certainly won't be buying anything, but it would be cool to see some sick basses at Premier.

The last time I was at Drum City, they couldn't have given two s**ts that I was there, and I was one of only two customers in the store. It was a while back, but I don't remember seeing anything but low end stuff... MIM Fenders, Squier, a few Deans and Schecters. Not impressed.

5sg.
