Hi everyone. So I’m putting together a parts p-bass, with a mighty mite 5 string neck. Went to string it up, and the B string I got was so long that the top wrap was beyond the tuning peg- meaning that the fattest part of the string was wrapping around the peg itself. And when I tried to bring it up to pitch, that was too much for the string- I heard a pop, and the fat part trying to go around the tuner had busted open. So! My question is this: with the B string tuner so close to the nut, what kind of strings do I need to look for that will be the right length? It’s 34” scale, bridge loads through the end (not through the body).
