Double Bass Short scale (Azola or other) EUB in San Diego?

Hi everyone,
I'd like to try a shorter-scale EUB (I own a 41" scale EUB), perhaps around 30" - 34" and see if that would be easier for me to play as I'm having hand and neck issues. Is there anyone in the San Diego area who might have one which I could compare with my 41" scale? I'd like to invest in the shorter scale EUB, but only if it helps my physical limitations.

Hi biddypatrick,
Yes, I think a 1/2 scale (around 38") or even a 1/4 scale (about 35") would be interesting to try. I've also found that the EUBs seem to be easier to play - just an initial observation. Maybe the tension is less on the strings (?) - the projection comes from the electronics I'm thinking....

hey Jill..if you are ever here in Portugal you can try my 39" Azola...I also have a 38" double bass and now I've got the string height better on the azola, I can't really tell the difference of 1"..so maybe you are right about EUB's are a little easier to play...1/4 size might feel pretty weird after 41" I once asked the people at David Gage travel bass if they made 1/2 size and they do...maybe they have one you can try too!
