Short Scale bass with SG Sized Neck?

Basically I love the neck on my SG bass, but that's about it. The body is too light for the neck, and the pickups are only ok. The neck is one of my favourite if not my favourite neck of all my basses. What are basses in production right now with a similar neck? The ones I know of are:

Reverend Wattplower (I'd prefer the mark II)

I played one and the pickup was insanely thumpy, if anyone knows a bright pickup (P pickup and brighter) I could put in it that would be awesome.

I actually need to remove that lol, yeah the chunkiness was good but I'm also thinking about the width from fretboard edge to fretboard edge, and the string spacing, I love the narrowness.

I have a hipshot bridge on it, but the difference in tone was minimal, I just don't think the SG sound is for me.

Love my epi eb0s neck.

I like playing gretsch jr jet when I am at GC. Feels good too. Was tempted to get one before finding a used eastwood jetsons jr. Neck is slightly different from eb0 but now used to it and love it.

Waiting to see how the new squier mustangs or sterlong stingray shorty feel.

Yeah, I get that. I love mine most days, but I can see it easily being a hard bass to love...for most.

Now that it’s getting beat up, it’s just too cool looking and beautiful sounding (with La Bella Flats) to let go, I’d regret it. And that neck, it is a fine one. I have the 2015 model with MOP inlays, thicker board. It’s sweet.

Good luck finding a replacement.

Between my 2014 SG and the older Junior Jet, nut width are both 1 and 5/8 inch with very similar neck profiles. Both of mine have replacement bridges so string spacing should be very close. A gap of 9/16 inch at 12th fret on both, having a Hipshot bridge on the SG and Gotoh 7 screw bridge on the Gretsch.

Well, the SG looks cooler, for sure - they both play great - but the Mustang sounds phenominal - kind of in between a Jazz and a P Bass, but with definite P Bass thump, and awesome in a band mix...

The SG does look cooler, but the Mustang looks cuter (cool in its own way). With the stock pickups, like you said, I agree that the Mustang’s sound is much more widely applicable

I just bought one of these on Friday while on my way to a weekend's worth of casino gigs. I didn't find it too thumpy by any stretch... In fact, I had to pull out the switchbox and turn down the tone for some songs because it was too cutting - especially in humbucking mode. I don't know what strings the ones you tried were wearing but I was using the dead stock strings and setup, as my bass came directly out of the box and out onto the stage with me. It's a great little bass, imo. And definitely way brighter than the mudbucker-equipped SG bass, that's for sure.
