I'm thinking about picking up a moderately inexpensive/expensive(depending on your outlook) short scale bass and making it fretless. Work to be performed by a trained pro of course. The top two candidates are either a modern SG Standard bass or a Fender Rascal. Anybody have experience with this sort of project who'd share their results? Anybody have ideas for classically lined, multi pick-upped short scale basses that could also be good for this sort of project? Or is there already a cool old school short scale fretless bass with fret markers that I don't know about? Let me know your thoughts TBers!

Are you specifically looking for 30” scale? Cause my first thought when I read this was the Warwick star bass 4 strings are 32” scale and they have made fretless ones in the rockbass line even
