Short scale les paul style bass?

My #2 is a 1973 Gibson Les Paul Triumph bass, which is probably about as Les Paul as you can get.

Beyond that though, how about a Guild M85? They are semi-hollow with a relatively deep body, but really great single-cut, arch-top basses!

You can also buy a Les Paul style guitar and replace the bridge and nut with bass counterparts. You may also have to swap out the tuners for bass tuners, and plug the extra holes.

It’s an option if you can’t find what you like in a factory product.

I love short scale Les Paul basses!

The one on the right is my 1969 Gibson Les Paul, which is my favorite bass.
The one on the left was built by myself and it is equipped with guitar pickups and controls.

This is my 1968 Gibson Les Paul Bass prototype. A very rare beast. Badass bridge is not original. Nor are the tuners.

Shape is modeled after my favorite bass. But with different pickups and specs

Revelation. British brand. Built in China. A Les Paul Bass copy. Pretty good quality with clever electronics.

CBS. Japanese seventies copy. Semi-hollow. Neck was plywood.

Jolana (guitar brand) - Wikipedia .
I Just happened to know that it is a Czechoslovakian brand. The Jolana D-bass that I played for a while made me aware of that. Jawa, CZ, Tatra and Škoda are also Czechoslovakian. Czech nowadays, although some Škoda's (and Seats) are made in Slowakia.

Ah, my mistake. I think the Reverb seller (who I believe was Ukrainian) had it listed as made in the USSR.
