Short scale show off time.

Maybe nobody cares but I built my dream short scale. 28 5/8 scale, walnut body, ebony board, maple neck. Since 28 5/8 scale is too short for even short scale strings I put a tail piece at the far end of the body so medium scale strings are a perfect fit. For what ever reason short scale basses tend to try and be vintage or old school sounding. I wanted a modern tone so it has an EMG HB pickup and the BQC control which has sweepable mids boost or cut. Now has:

Bartolini Pickups
Hipshot Bridge
Gotoh Tuners
Abalone topped Black Knobs

I'm a guitar player but this bass plays so easily and sounds so good I've been having a ball getting my bass chops together on it.

The new bridge and tuners really improved the sound of every strings but especially the low E. It was pretty muddy before and now it's deep, in tune and growly.

The Bartolinis are wonderful.
