Shortening rack power cables?

The retrofitting IEMs are a good find; Mouser seems the best price by far for all. Could daisy-chain up a few to tidy the FOH rack.

PowerCon seems interesting for lockable power. It'd take some re-tooling . . . some day.

that stuff from mouser is only 18 ga.....less than 14 ga would probably not suit

you guys got it all wrong! all you gotta do is;
1. go get a steak knife
2.cut the cord
3.strip the ends
4.wrap the ground around the cord(who needs that safety ****)
5.stick the black and white bare wires into whatever they go in
6.spray some water on it
7.turn it on
and yer done!

18 gauge is fine for the FOH rack. Amp rack or a bass head would be a different story; there I'd like 14 at least.

You may want to consider another approach. As some one who installs a lot of equipment at work, we almost never shorten power cables. You never know when you may need the extra length.

Have you considered coiling them up and securing them with zip ties? It's a lot less permanent than cutting your cables.
