So my ever responsible and mature roommate threw my PS3 controller at the fridge and broke it. $55 down the drain. Lesson learned never move in with a junkie.

Dualshock Sixaxis 3 or whatever. It was expensive as heck. And his drug addled brain was unable to understand that.
I just got a white dualshock. If it got broked, I would hurt someone. Thankfully my roomate plays a lot of games and understands what $60 is worth. I still want to know exactly why he thought fridge/freezer was a good idea. Did the battery go down and he tried the old put it in the fridge for a few minutes trick (not realizing you can charge it)?
Well someone needs to take games a little less serious, and get you a shiny new controller.

I would be concerned if this were a real gaming system like an XBox 360 or something, but since it is just a Blu-Ray player with good graphics it's nothing to worry about.

I'm with the moving out crowd. I wouldn't feel safe with my gear around, much less any kind of gaming or entertainment system with a junkie in the house. Time for either him to go or for you to go. I'd leave.
I'm sure there's worse things than living with an addict with poor impulse control, like living with 2 addicts with poor impulse control.
