i did a search on Maestro and really didnt get anything pertinent
except for one example where the bridges were installed off axis ona fretless 6 string made by this company
but of the sea of real chap basses (Galveston,Titan,Tennessee,SX) how does Maestro hold up?

Maestro is a Gibson sub-brand. I swear I have seen this name on a guitar sold in Bed Bath and Beyond (a mini flying V for kids).

I thought about this bass for a little bit last time i saw it on ebay, but decided without playing it, it wasn't worth the risk. But if you get it, you have to report back here.

I don't think it is the same Maestro... I had a maestro boomerang Wah pedal that got thrown in on something I purchased at one point. I think the name as far as gibson goes is discontinued... I might be wrong.... I think it is just another name tossed on a generic import.

I've paid more for a family dinner. Seems decent enough. The tuners would cost you that much, bought separate.

Seriously, don't buy a bass you have not seen or know nothing about unless the cost is immaterial to you. I'd suggest to keep the money and put it toward an instrument you will be certain to be happy with.

but the last bass I bought was ordered sight unseen but the people at Sam Ash gave me a good deal ..if I wasnt happy I can get something else after I got it

which goes to moments like EvilBay and Custom luthier built basses
its kind of like taking a leap of faith when you consider buying from those instances.....a bass conundrum

I wouldnt buy any of these basses unless I had the mindset of just buying a junker to tool around with
before that I would buy a good used or a new SX..I just think the headless looks nice but I need a fretless first
or moreso I need a cure for GAS...
