Should I buy this brand new Ampeg 8x10???

If anyone is looking for a great deal (50% off) on a brand new Ampeg 8x10 cab. The 300x tube amp that matches it is already gone. which I would have been more interested in. I'm tempted to buy it myself but I doubt I'd ever have the opportunity to crank it up to the "11" it deserves. Anyway, if anyone is interested, let me know and I'll let you know where it is. Just thought I'd through that out there.

If I won, I'd buy half a dozen 810's and have them barged to my small town and placed in all the clubs so every bass player could use the house bass cab! Now you are one cool dude! My bud has an early 70's SVT rig, got me hooked on an 8x10 so i bought a cheap Acoustic 8x10 and modded the cabinet (lots of work too) but darn an 8x10 is something else!

Yea...very addicting...it sounds full even in a very small room at low volumes, you can easily hear and feel everything whereas i cant hear a 4x10 on the floor as well in a small room!

I had the same feeling as you, and now there's an 810 in my bedroom. I'm glad I pulled the trigger and would have regretted it if I had saw it gone.

Every bass amp that I have ever owned (five in the last twenty years) sounded it's best through an 8 10e at ANY volume. I'm currently pushing them (yes , I own more than one) with either an SVT Classic head or a PF 500 head. I've only hooked up more than one cab twice. The first time , I was told by my band "Don't ever do that again." The second time , we had an earthquake a couple of hours later.

My main cab is an 810CL. You definitely don't need to crank your amp to get great sound out of it. They're amazing cabs that are more than the sum of their parts. Do it!

buy a Barefaced instead. Better tone and you can lift it with one hand.
