Should I buy this? Maruszczyk Paddock

Hey talkbass,
I am considering getting this exact bass (Maruszczyk paddock). I believe it is the same one in the video.



and here are some specs
Maruszczyk Paddock 5a 5 String Custom White Ebony

It sounds rather buzzy in the video on the low B so that is the main concern. I am also wondering about the pickups (Delania xtenders) and just overall idea of if it’s a good bass. I can get it for 1900 and it would replace my schecter riot 5. I know marusczcyk has a good reputation on here.

Is there anything wrong with your Schecter Riot 5 that it needs to be replaced with another bass? And will the Paddock bass provide you with whatever you feel the Schecter is missing? If the answer isn’t a “yes” to both questions then pass on by and keep your money in the bank. Just my two cents

I have a Maruszczyk Frog headless 5 and love it! In fact, I just purchased this Paddock headless 5 the other day and should be here this week! They're top quality quality instruments and keep up with any other Boutique instrument I own including my Fbass, Roscoe, Warrior and others in my lineup.

I always wonder about the scale length with those tailpieces...looks odd. Also, I've heard people not having enough intonation room with that bridge.

I had a Frog 5 headless and never had any intonation issues with that ETS bridge. Also the knobs on the back of the body are so you can set it down, doesn’t affect the reach. Actually reach felt more like a 33 to 32 because the upper horn is long and the bridge is right at the tail of the instrument. They do a nice job on headless builds, I still have the Caspar 5 32” I custom ordered, nice bass.

Whatever is going on behind the saddles doesn't affect the scale length.

Sick! That’s great to hear. I’d love to get a headless again one day. I had the ehb1505 in ice flat and used it as part of a trade but I’d love to get another one day. Thanks for the comment, it’s great to hear it stands up to other high class bases. I’m really excited to get it in a couple days.

Dude… I actually don’t typically like red colored basses but that thing is gorgeous. I also initially thought the xtender pickups were ugly but somehow managed to absolutely love them, and yours like sick in white. I haven’t been able to find a ton of information/reviews or demos of them but they sound good from what I’ve heard.

It's a fantastic bass! I agree the white Delanos with the red burst look awesome! The photos you see aren't photo shopped. They so a great job with form and finish.
