I went into the local pawn shop today and they had a Hondo fame series 830 with a $200 price tag on it. Whoever owned it last put a bunch of looney toons stickers on it and put little streaks of cheap glitter paint on it which makes it look like its all scratched up at first glance, but it isnt. The neck has a couple nicks on it but its straight and the headstock has a small chip. Aside from the glitter and paint, the only real issue i noticed it that the posts on the E/A string pickup were sunk into the cover a little and when i plugged it into an amp the E and A string were, as expected, quieter than the D/G strings. But this seems like an easy fix. Anyway, the guy went down to $100 and then to $80 when I showed him the pickup issue. i dont really need a 3rd bass but figure I might be able to make a little profit off it if I clean it up and fix the pickup issue or, if it ends up sounding good, I might keep it and sale one of my other basses. btw, the bridge saddles are brass and the body is string through.
What do you guys think?
(Im not sure why I took this pic, but here it is anyway)
