New poll! I hope this is the right section to put this in.

So my question is this (and yes, it's related to the poll question): what's the opposite of GAS? For instance, is it the state of mind where you want to just sell all your gear? Or is the buying/selling/re-buying/re-selling all a part of GAS? I'm mainly asking because I've had the tendency to buy gear, keep it for a month or two and then end up wanting to sell it to get more gear. Only select few equipment make it through this "filtering" process. Right now what I'm considering letting go of is a Les Paul Studio Faded (guitar) in the hopes of funding new BASS gear. I've learned the hard way that guitar isn't for me but that bass definitely is!

Anyway onto the poll:

Sell my Les Paul guitar to buy more bass gear? Sell all my gear? Keep all my gear? Carrots?

Thanks in advance!

I have been in a similar situation before.
I am in a similar situation now.
I am tired of having Too Much Crap. I have good quality basses, amps and guitars. However, sometimes your (my) possessions start to own you (own me), as opposed to the way it should be. When that happens, and it does happen, you (I) need to clear out the unneeded and the unnessary things.
Just MAKE SURE you won't miss whatever you sell. Regret is a powerful emotion.

YMMV

Giving away, or at least selling very cheaply, unused gear to that young, aspiring bass player down the street will go a long way to eliminating any seller's remorse.

I gave my first bass away to my nephew, which became his first bass.

He is now fronting several local cover and original bands, and is working his way into live and studio sound and production work, and is quite the local celebrity in his hometown music scene.

Oh, did I mention I gave him his first bass? ;)
