I had a similar situation. I had a '75 P-Bass, but unlike you, I really loved it. Tone-monster. Looked good. All was right with the world.

I wasn't really lusting for something else, but decided to sell it because... I also had a MIJ E-Series P and an American Special Honeyburst P. I loved all three of them. But the MIJ and the American Special both had the 1.625" nut width, which I favor slightly over the 1.75" on the '75.

So I sold the '75 and have not regretted it. And yes, I still have the other two...

So ... I decided to let her go and once sold, will put a deposit on a new Lakland USA 44-64. No rush on my part. I took the advice and listed it on one of the instrument selling sites

You might come back in 20 years and see how much prices have risen and at first want to kick yourself.
but then you’ll remember you didnt like the thing anyway and it wouldn’t have been worth $100-$200 a year to let it sit around instead of getting something you’ll actually use.

Nah. I think once he gets his hands on that Lakie he'll kick himself for not having made the move sooner.
